In the Philippines only .8% of the Electricity is from a Renewable energy source, and less than 1% of that is Solar. As of now solar is the cheapest way for a person to get a renewable energy source. The average cost of solar is 2 peso per KWH. The average cost of Electric in the Philippines is 19 peso per KWH and ½ of the cost of Electric is distribution. With the population growth in the Philippines and the power demands we are needing to produce another 100,000 Mega Watts of power in the next 20 years. The Philippines is Growing fast in population and industry. To meet the needs we need to get a renewable source of energy in place to save our environment from disaster the cheapest and best way it solar. If we had solar on every residential home in the Philippines and stopped using Fossil fuels we could cut the emissions down by over ½ and make it to where you do not need to worry about brown outs. The average household would save on average of 19,000 peso a year and put the power back to the People. As of now 40% of the average Filipino’s household expenses goes to Electric cost. With solar it could be 4% of the average Filipino’s household expenses. It is a large investment at first but it pays off in an average of 5 years. With 110 million people in the Philippines today and an expected growth of 2,000,000 per year we can make a huge difference.
